WHAT IS YOUR DAY OF WORSHIP?

The Seventh-day Adventists, among their many erroneous teachings and beliefs, claim that you have to worship on Saturday and never on any other day because if you worship on another day then you are paying homage to the anti-Christ.

They base this erroneous belief on just a few verses in the Bible found in Exodus 20:8-11:

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

They ignore all New Testament teachings when it comes to their Sabbath worship, if it contradicts their own teachings.

The first recorded change in the day of worship is found in Acts20:7-12:

And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together. And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead. And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him. When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed. And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.

The Seventh-day Adventists will try to tell you they met on the first day of the week (Sunday)because they had to leave early the very next day. Ok if what they claim is true, then so what? This is still a violation of what they falsely claim and committed by the Apostles themselves, and there is no mention of them having to leave early the following day found in the Bible. This is just another part of their delusions to try to justify themselves.

These verses report and signify a very important change that had taken place. They had met to worship on the first day of the week (Sunday) and this is the first mention of midnight. The Jewish way of keeping time is from sundown to sundown. But by bringing up midnight (the Roman way of keeping time that we now use today). It is after this mention of "midnight" that the way of keeping time in the Bible also changed. It was no longer from sundown to sundown; it was now kept as midnight to midnight. This alone signifies that a major change took place. Even in the times that the New Testament was taking place and being written, there were many Jewish people who had become Christians and kept on insisting that they must worship on Saturday, the traditional Jewish day of worship.

The Apostle Paul had the following to say about this:

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days
(Colossians 2:16)

The Apostle Paul additionally tells us:

One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
(Romans 14:5-12)

The Seventh-day Adventists and those like them are guilty of doing just the opposite of what the Apostle Paul, who was inspired by God, then wrote the above Scripture. They are out there judging others who do not agree with them and judging them for the day they worship on, in complete violation of God's Holy Word.

The same verse above also warns not to judge others for celebrating a "holyday" (or holiday), which we see the Jehovah's Witnesses do constantly when they condemn the celebration of ANY holiday and those who celebrate it.

This is exactly what we see all of the cults and false religions doing. They will rewrite or change Scripture to fit how they want it to. Some will take Scripture out of context. Others chose to just completely ignore Scripture and do as they want.
